I don't fit in. It doesn't bother me; I've never really fit in. But this is torture. I can hear the word 'fake' yelled in my direction, and I feel the tears burn in my eyes.
Is it my fault my mom was adopted? Is it my fault I'm not truly related to the man I loved as a father? Is it my fault that dunce has the same last name as me? Does he have to remind me that I don't have a real family? Does he need to hurt me even more? Does he get some sort of sick pleasure out of seeing me upset?

One by one, the detectives looked up from their paperwork as a stranger entered the room. No one recognized her, and she obviously looked a little lost.
